A weary detective investigates a series of child murders, succumbing to an all-consuming and tragic obsession with the case. Unfolding with breathtaking black and white cinematography and haunting sound design this is a hypnotic, tantalisingly atmospheric and meditative film about the darkness of the human soul. To honour György Fehér’s collaboration with Béla Tarr, this is a rare screening of the debut film by one of Hungary’s most important artists.

A detective investigating child murders becomes obsessed in this breathtaking film.
