In the late 1970s Chrisopher Reeve went from unknown actor to iconic movie star with his definitive portrayal of Clark Kent/Superman, becoming the benchmark for the superhero that dominates cinema today. In 1995 he was left paralysed in a near-fatal accident and embraced a new role as activist for disability rights and continued his career both behind and in front of the camera. This is an affectionate portrait of bravery and heroism and a reminder of human decency in a troubled time.
