Join Dafydd Owain on a musical tour through the imaginary world of Uwch Dros y Pysgod. The talented musician is set to step onto stages in Caernarfon and Cardiff for two unforgettable nights, as he launches his first solo album, Uwch Dros y Pysgod'. With a series of singles from his debut album already making waves, including Uwch Dros y Pysgod (BBC Radio Cymru Track of the Week) and Gan Gwaith, Dafydd is offering a rare opportunity to experience the full album live with his full band.
Ffenest, a newly-formed band comprising former Sen Segur members Ben and George, will open the night with their enchanting and immaculately-craned songs.
Dafydd Owain is a musician and composer hailing from north Wales. Known for his contributions to numerous bands such as Palenco, Bür Hoff Bau, Omaloma, Jen Jeniro and Eitha Tal Ffranco, Owain is now carving out a new path as a solo artist under the ever-so-slightly unimaginable moniker of ‘Dafydd Owain’. 'Uwch Dros y Pysgod' is Owain’s first solo offering. The debut is a collection of semi-autobiographical songs set in an imaginary village of the same name. Owain tells his story through the trials and tribulations of ‘Uwch Dros y Pysgod's’ imaginary inhabitants. The album was recorded at Sain, Llandwrog, with the producer, Llŷr Pari (Omaloma, Melin Melyn, Bitw) and will be released in May 2023 on I Ka Ching Records.
