Hirayama seems utterly content with his simple life. He works as a cleaner in Tokyo and takes pride in his work; he eats noodles from the local street vendor, enjoys his passion for music and books; and loves nature, taking photos of trees. But a series of unexpected encounters gradually reveal more about his past and disrupt his structured everyday routine. Wim Wenders returns to narrative drama and gifts us a deeply moving and poetic reflection on finding beauty in the everyday world around us.
