Nicholas Winton, a British stockbroker living in Prague, arranges the rescue of Jewish children from the Nazis to the UK, with the help of his mother and a tight-knit band of Kindertransport volunteers, before the invasion of the city. 50 years later, Winton is still haunted by the fate of those he couldn’t save until a live TV show surprises him with the surviving children, now adults, seated around him and he begins to make peace with the grief of his past. A sweeping, epic drama with a wonderful Welsh cast leading at the front, this is a beautifully performed study of a remarkable life, as well as a timely reminder of the need to help those fleeing persecution and the power of individual acts in defence of human rights, even when all seems lost.

“A testament to the power of good, with a prestige cast including a fine, understated Anthony Hopkins... serves as an urgent reminder of the importance of individual action at a time when the world refugee crisis is at a scale not seen since the Second World War.”
