In her first feature documentary, visual artist Sarah Beddington weaves together a story about the homing instinct of migratory birds with an intimate portrait of Fadia, born into a Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon. Fadia challenges Sarah to search for an ancient mulberry tree that grew next to her grandfather’s house, a witness to her family’s existence and forced exile in 1948. A journey that Fadia herself is forbidden from taking. A reflection of freedom of movement, the logic of the natural world and the undimmed hope of return.
