After the death of her famous opera-singing aunt, Paula is sent to study in Italy to have voice training. Whilst there she falls in love with charming Gregory Anton and the two return to London. Once there, in her late Aunt’s home, she begins to notice some odd things: missing pictures, strange footsteps in the night and gaslights that dim without being touched. As she fights for her sanity, her new husband’s intentions come into question. A finely crafted film noir with wonderful performances from some of the greatest stars of the 20th century.
