EXPERIMENTICA 24: Onismo Muhlanga: Matriarch !habesi of spring
- 0h 30m
Attributes
- Duration 0h 30m
Matriarch !habesi of spring offers a film, sounds, patterns and movement alongside the spacial energy in between. Matriarch signifies homage to the divine maternal force that births and sustains us. !Habesi (in N|uu, a Khoe language) signifies roots, lineage, kinship, and belonging.
With our ancestors, this offering is speaking to our cosmic mother universe, sharing links our roots of daughter earth with a dialogue to (re)honour and preserve them both through ritual and reverence. This invitation is a guide for our renewal into spring. Inspired from !Habesi, a collaboration project between Indigenous Frequency Cast and |Kx'am.

Eimear Walshe: [É]IRE
This billboard shows an aerial view of Bray Head, County Wicklow, Ireland. A gorse fire has revealed letters in the landscape spelling EIRE, with the first letter barely visible. EIRE is an anglicised misspelling of Éire, the Irish word for Ireland, and the official Irish language name for the country since 1937.
