In the town of Deerfield, Washington FBI Agent Chester Desmond disappears whilst hunting for the murderer of Teresa Banks. In Philadelphia, the mysterious appearance of Agent Philip Jeffries leads FBI Bureau Chief Gordon Cole to put Agent Dale Cooper on the case. A year later, teenager Laura Palmer leads a double life in Twin Peaks, Washington, battling against her inevitable fate. An illuminating, lore-infested prequel to the Twin Peaks series, with David Lynch going down a darker, harder-edged road in film than TV had allowed. The film was reviled by critics upon release, but with hindsight has been reassessed as one of the masterpieces of Lynch’s career.

In a logging town in the Pacific Northwest, the discovery of the corpse of homecoming queen, meals on wheels volunteer and cheerleader Laura Palmer whose smiling portrait sits in the medal cabinet in pride of place, rocks the community. The cosy townsfolk are found to be full of secrets, uncovered slowly by unorthodox FBI Agent Dale Cooper. David Lynch and Hill Street Blues writer Mark Frost bring together a fantastic ensemble cast of actors, ranging from Hollywood legends such as Russ Tamblyn and Piper Laurie to Seattle theatre regulars and long-time Lynch collaborators such as Jack Nance and Catherine Coulson. A landmark creation in the history of television, TV executives at the time were baffled by the dreamy, absurdist take on episodic drama and began to lose faith during the second season, leading to Lynch and Frost to finish the series earlier than planned. Lynch followed the series up with a hard-edged feature film prequel, and finally 25 years later, the long-awaited series Twin Peaks: The Return which picked up the plot from the explosive season 2 finale to show us the consequences of evil left unchecked for a generation. The third and final season, a meditative and metaphysical reflection on time, the origin of evil, legacy and the importance of community was named by many as one of the most significant pieces of moving picture art of the early 21st century. Journey with us to explore the complete mystery over 25 weeks.
