Doc N Roll 2024: The Teaches of Peaches (adv 18)

Electrifying lyrics and music, rad haircuts and pubic hair bodysuits, Peaches, the provocative electroclash artist seemed to emerge fully formed with her stage persona in 2000. But it soon became clear that there was so much more to her than her music. Canadian feminist Merrill Nisker as Peaches helped kick open the doors that enabled women in music to talk more frankly about sex, gender, identity, rage and their own, uncompromised artistry. Two decades later, preparing to embark on tour we get a chance to glimpse behind the construction of the performance and reflect on the past with with a rich archive of footage.
