In our concourse we welcome a host of organisations who are available to chat about the ways they can support Deaf people in Wales and beyond. From BSL translation to mental health support, and creative captioning to Deaf artists’ networks, pop along to find out more.

SignLive

SignLive offers on-demand British Sign Language (BSL) Interpreting 24/7 via their app or a web browser.

Their fully qualified, experienced interpreters can be accessed at the tap of a button providing communication support for BSL users at work and at home.

They also offer BSL interpreting to organisations, helping them improve communication with deaf employees, take calls from Deaf customers, and facilitate appointments with BSL users.

Our Visual World

Our Visual World (OVW) is a networking group that supports Deaf artists to connect and learn from each other. They’re based in South Wales but support Deaf artists across Wales by linking them with galleries and museums, ensuring their voices are heard in the art world.

OVW works with Deaf artist Jonny Cotsen and Jane Simpson, who runs GS Artists in Swansea. They also partner with Disability Arts Cymru, Llanelli Deaf Club and Glynn Vivian Art Gallery.

BSL Zone

The British Sign Language Broadcasting Trust (BSLBT) commissions television programmes made in British Sign Language. Their target audience is Deaf BSL users. All of these programmes are available to watch on our BSL Zone player. BSLBT was set up in 2008, to offer an alternative way for commercial broadcasters to meet their regulatory requirements to provide sign language on their qualifying channels.

Stephanie Bailey-Scott is the Access, Participation, and Inclusion Manager at Taking Flight Theatre Company. She’s a Deaf BSL user and is also known for her pretty fabulous walking sticks! She’s an actress, theatre maker and workshop leader, and lead facilitator for Wales' only youth theatre for Deaf and hard of hearing young people, Taking Flight Youth Theatre.

Steph is also passionate about art and regularly paints in her free time. We’re delighted that she’ll join us to promote her artwork and other creative makes including gorgeous jewellery.

Vamos Theatre is the UK's leading full mask theatre company, taking its funny and fearless brand of wordless theatre across the length and breadth of the UK and beyond.
