About the artists

David Grubbs has been making music for four decades. Over the years David has been a member of Gastr del Sol, Bastro, and Squirrel Bait. David is also an author. He has published four books -Good night the pleasure was ours, The Voice in the Headphones, Now that the audience is assembled, and Records Ruin the Landscape: John Cage, the Sixties, and Sound Recording (all published by Duke University Press) His latest album Whistle From Above (Drag City) was released in February.

Secluded Bronte - Richard Thomas, Adam Bohman, Jonathan Bohman - formed in London and launched in New York City in 2002. The Anglo-Welsh trio’s music combines elements of free improvisation, rock, musique concrète, dub, song and spoken word. They have been likened to a wide array of artists - This Heat, Wire, Jean-Luc Godard, Ennio Morricone, The Residents, The Fall, John Cage, Sun Ra - but, ultimately, Secluded Bronte are unclassifiable. They have toured extensively throughout Europe and the UK. A new album, Incidental Games, is forthcoming in 2025.

Jo Kelly is a Bristol-based musician and game designer who coaxes an extraordinary range of sound from their instrument, from rough-hewn viscera to fleet-footed filigree - spleen sublimated to the sublime. They will be presenting a fully improvised performance on the double bass based on their recent record, ‘ᚹ’. ‘An expression of pure Joy Stillness and playfulness A beam of heavy sunlight falling across your eyes’.
