Sophie, a 40-year-old philosophy professor, is in a stable, if somewhat passionless, relationship with Xavier. A decade has flown by, filled with dinner parties and cultural events shared with their middle-class, intellectual, progressive friends. But when she meets Sylvain, the builder at their holiday chalet, there’s instant chemistry. Sophie begins to question her choices, and her prior assumptions. Opposites attract, but can they last? A sexy, sharp and perceptive, dark comedy and a shrewd portrait of a generation of women interrogating desire, fidelity and social norms.
