_____

The tumultuous, beautiful and tragic story of the life of the world’s greatest female opera singer, Maria Callas is relived and reimagined during her final days in 1970s Paris. Angelina Jolie shines as Pablo Larraín’s empathetic film, part of his series of acclaimed and original looks at icons of the 20th century (Jackie; Spencer). In a transformative performance Jolie captures the masks she wore to deal with the alarming degree of scrutiny whilst the world looked on, exploring this extraordinary woman away from the tabloid headlines.
