It is eleven years after The Terminator, where Sarah Connor was saved in order to give birth to the future leader of civilisation’s last hope against the robots: John Connor. We find a young, wayward John living in a foster home, his mother in an asylum. The robots have found a way to fight back and sent another, shape-shifting Terminator from the future to assassinate him. However, a revamped T-800, identical to his deadly predecessor, but with instructions to protect John, has been sent back by the Resistance. John finds his mother and with the T-800 form a plan to survive. An explosive, thrilling sequel with eye-popping visual effects which, similarly to Aliens, reset expectations to what a follow-up film can accomplish.
