Our response to the Supreme Court ruling on gender recognition
- Published:
We are saddened and deeply concerned at the recent Supreme Court Ruling that women’s rights based on sex do not include trans women. We believe this will have harmful implications for Trans and LGBTQIA+ people.
We stand in solidarity with trans, intersex and non-binary folk and proudly celebrate Chapter as an organisation that recognises people’s rights to self-identify.
We know that this decision will affect many of our teams, their friends and families and the groups and individuals who visit us. We’re working to include and not discriminate and want everyone to feel respected and able to enjoy their experience with us.
To our trans friends and communities, if you need a quiet place to gather, reflect and discuss, we can offer you our Peilot Community Space free of charge. If you'd like to book this, please email Rory.Duckhouse@chapter.org.
For everyone’s safety and comfort, we have all-gender and single gender toilets throughout our building, and we encourage visitors to use whichever aligns to their own gender identity. We also have a Code of Conduct which we ask all our colleagues and visitors to sign up to.
