Jump back in: Chapter Cinema
- Published:
You might be an avid Chapter cinema-goer or maybe you haven't visited us in a while... Whatever it may be, we wanted to reach out and reintroduce ourselves!
Our Cinema consists of two screens, one larger screen with a capacity of up to 180, used for Q&A's, film talks, premiers and more, known as Cinema 1. Cinema 2 is the smaller screen, infamously red and is a cosy space, perfect for sinking into our comfy red chairs and immersing yourself in the cinematic experience, with a capacity of up to 52.
We screen all genres of films, meaning there really is something
for everyone! We celebrate film in all its forms by offering an enriched cinema
experience showing laser projected as well as 35mm films, from mainstream
blockbusters to unique art-house specialist cinema.
We showcase foreign-language films weekly and host a series of film festivals throughout the year, including Kotatsu, Cardiff Animation Festival, London Film Festival, SAFAR Film Festival, and more!
We're proud to be the lead organisation for Film Hub Wales, one of eight around the UK formed as part of the British Film Institute: Film Audience Network. Through FHW, we bring more films, to more people, in more places across the organisation.
For the family
We currently show a free family film every Saturday morning, where you and your family can enjoy a weekend activity on us, which continues into the school holidays. Throughout the year we show the latest family-friendly films.
If you're a new parent, you can enjoy a film with us without worrying about childcare! Bring your babies (under 12 months) to our Carry on Screaming films, every Friday morning. The lights are raised and volume is lowered, and no need to worry about disturbing others.
Accessible cinema
Cinema 1 has a stair lift creating step-free access to the screen. Once in the cinema, our back row of seats are our dedicated accessible seating.
Cinema 2 has step-free access, with a slight slope towards the back of the cinema. Our front row of seats are our dedicated accessible seating.
We offer a range of screenings that include soft subtitles, audio description, BSL interpretation and a relaxed environment.
Fortnightly film guides
To keep up to date with our current films, we send out a fortnightly film newsletter including the link to our film guide!
Film guides include our current cinema programme, accessibility tags, dates and information.
All of our films are bookable and dates and times can be found on our website.
