Films at Chapter 6 – 12 September

  • Published:

Croeso to Deaf Gathering Cymru, a Deaf-led festival for everyone. This weekend, our films will be shown with Soft Subtitles in celebration.

As part of the festival, we’re screening Deaf Film Club: The Lorax with live performed BSL by Alex Nowak, Deaf MovieMaker, and to close the weekend of events, we’re screening George Mann’s The Extraordinary Wall [of Silence], a potent piece of storytelling that relates the living history of oppression and misunderstanding of the Deaf community at the hands of the hearing.

After our sold-out Q&A on Wednesday, the wildly eerie, slow-burn folk horror Starve Acre hits our screens from 6 – 12 September.

You can also join us this week for a unique chance to enjoy The Third Man, a celebration of classic noir directed by Carol Reed. Or follow Kristofer on his daunting journey and absorbing quest for love in Touch.
