Gŵyl Cymru Festival starts on 19 November and aims to unify and amplify the wealth of arts, music and events being created for Cymru’s historic World Cup journey – in locations across Wales and beyond. By creating spaces and opportunities for people to come together to celebrate the national men’s team’s success, Gŵyl Cymru Festival also hopes to introduce new audiences to Welsh arts, culture and language – ensuring a cultural legacy to the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Join us in the Stiwdio Seligman to watch the match on our big screen! No booking required, simply turn up and soak up the atmosphere.

A bar inclusive of soft drinks, coffee and tea, and food will be available before, during and after the game in the Stiwdio! Our Caffi Bar is open as usual in the main building providing our full food menu, cocktail menu and hot beverages.

Gŵyl Cymru lightbox installation by Phil Morgan

November 2022 – January 2023

We’re delighted to partner with Gŵyl Cymru Festival to present a new artwork by local artist Phil Morgan.

Commissioned as part of the festival, celebrating Cymru’s historic qualification for the World Cup, this powerful icon of respect and tolerance will be in place until the end of January 2023.

This year, the World Cup is hosted in Qatar, a nation where same sex relationships are criminalised. Phil’s work aims to offer a striking symbol in solidarity with LGBTQIA+ communities both at home and away, with rainbow colours centred in the familiar hand-making-a-heart of Gareth Bale.

The artwork is part of a programme of events and activity at Chapter during the festival. For more information about What’s on visit www.chapter.org or ask at our Information Desk inside.

Watch out, The Teds are in town & they're ready to SHAKE, RATTLE and ROLL with the punches…’

A contemporary dance theatre performance drawing inspiration from 1950s gangs and their rebellious attitude. A sharply dressed, suited and booted gang of youths exploring an androgynous look and building characters that take on a ‘masculine’ physicality and edgy choreography. Mixing Rock n Roll and swing dance footwork, physical theatre and characterisation, transforming into rock icons, whipping up a frenzy and hysteria from their adoring fans!... absolutely no autographs please!
