Over the years many photographers and production companies have used Chapter as a backdrop or for location filming. Recently you would have been able to spot us in the BBC documentary A Killing in Tiger Bay, S4C’s Iaith ar Daith, and even in His Dark Materials.
Due to the unusual shape and style of our building (a mix of the original Canton High School and our modern upgrades), we have an incredible range of spaces: rooms with period features, a large open-plan concourse or our beautiful gardens could help bring your vision to life.
We have two screens here, each with wheelchair spaces and induction loops.
Our cinemas are very different in size and style, but both are perfect for private screenings, industry presentations or corporate conferences.
Your event will be fully supported by our visitor services team, and highly experienced in-house projectionists who can assist with technical and lighting options.

Our hire spaces can cater for all sorts of special occasions, from birthday parties to retirement events, and wedding receptions to family gatherings.

We have two black box theatre spaces that are perfect for public performances.
Our theatres are equipped with comprehensive lighting and sound systems which are paired with excellent internet connectivity.
Hires can include the support of one of our experienced technicians and we also offer bespoke lighting design at an additional cost.
Please be aware that if you want us to advertise your event through our marketing channels, the hire and use of our theatre spaces won’t be based solely on availability. We’ll always consider artistic quality, audience suitability, and whether your booking fits our standard and seasonal programming schedule.
We have lots of spaces that are suitable for rehearsals and many recent theatre shows in Wales have used them during the early stages of development. From our theatres to a range of more intimate characterful rooms, we can cater to your specific needs.
It’s best to speak to a submit an enquiry to find out which space suits your requirements, including equipment, flooring and technical capability.
Parking
We have a large free car park to the rear of the venue, to ensure that your guests can be easily accommodated. There are 6 spaces for Blue Badge holders, with a further three Blue Badge parking spaces in our front car park.
Access
All our hire rooms are accessible for wheelchair users, fitted with assistive listening devices and have accessible toilets nearby.
Hospitality
We’re very happy to supply hospitality to your room and this can range from coffee, tea and pastries, to a bespoke menu for a unique celebration. We have extensive vegetarian, vegan, Halal and gluten-free offers so let us know your dietary requirements and we’ll create a menu accordingly.
